Nutritional Medicine , Separating Fact from Fiction
A new buzzword circulating the nutraceutica/functional food arena is the subject of nutricosmetics. These are cosmetics that utilize compounds, such as resveratrol, a nutraceutical, as a topical application extrapolated from studies centered on altering chemical reactions WITHIN the body - and at a hefty cost.
An extensive review of the scientific literature in 2013-2014 showed absolutely no indication that resveratol applied topically changed anything. There is no viable research to support this, so in this case, BUYERS BEWARE.
It seems like everyone is out to take the consumer's money. This is so wrong.
